ARMY RESERVE PRIORITIES

Evolving to meet the needs of the Army and the nation, Army Reserve priorities are nested with the current HQDA Focus Areas, as well as FORSCOM’s Four Wins.

FOCUS AREA 1
HQDA: WARFIGHTING
FORSCOM – WIN THE FIRST FIGHT

USAR: To build the warfighting skills needed for the future fight, we are:

  • Focusing on achieving mission essential readiness:
    • Condensing and streamlining administrative requirements to give Commanders more time to train.
    • Focusing on DMOSQ, PME, Individual training, and collective training (up to platoon)
  • Executing Tough, Realistic Training… Done Safely.
    • With only 39 available training days per year, leaders must make EVERY battle assembly count.
    • Training on/with your MTOE equipment and leverage your maintainers to maintain it.

FOCUS AREA 2
HQDA: DELIVER READY COMBAT POWER
FORSCOM - #2 WIN AS A BALANCED TOTAL ARMY

USAR: To build the combat-ready power needed to win as a balanced Total Army, we are streamlining and tailoring the mobilization process which includes:

  • Revamping pre-mobilization processes to increase USAR agility and responsiveness.
  • Caring for our Soldiers and their families – the foundation for everything we do.
  • Resolving pay and administrative issues quickly to avoid negatively impacting families, retention, and morale.
  • A holistic approach to health and fitness.

FOCUS AREA 3
HQDA: CONTINUOUS TRANSFORMATION
FORSCOM: WIN THE FUTURE FIGHT

USAR: To achieve this across the force we are:

  • Evolving our structure to support the Army of 2040: Rebalancing capabilities, restructuring to support Army 2030/2040, and investing in high-demand civilian skills.
  • Fostering a culture of improvement to support continuous transformation and adaptation.
  • Exploring the pathways for better integration of civilian skills into the future fight.

FOCUS AREA 4
HQDA: STRENGTHEN THE PROFESSION
FORSCOM: WIN TRUST AND EMPOWER LEADERS

USAR: Lastly, in support of strengthening the profession, we are investing in the development of our Soldiers and leaders, while also expanding our efforts to engage with our communities, partners, and employers.
